GEARS
Necessity of Gears in Your Conversion
Absolutely! While some of our competitors might argue that gear reduction isn’t necessary due to potential limitations in supply, they might have a point in certain contexts. For instance, if a customer commutes to work daily in an empty F450 pickup, a gear installation might not be required. However, a completely different scenario emerges when a customer is towing a hefty load like a D5 CAT behind an F550. In this case, a gear conversion becomes not only necessary but imperative to accommodate the super single conversions. Various factors like budget, load, torque, and horsepower all come into play.
But what if you skip the gear conversion despite hauling substantial loads? The consequences are numerous and unpleasant. Expect elevated transmission temperatures, burnt rear differential oil, a transmission consistently searching for suitable gears at highway speeds, and malfunctions in speedometer, odometer, TCM, PCM, and ABS functions.
This is precisely why we advocate for gear changes. Our YouTube videos illustrate a comfortable 2100 RPM at 75 mph with our gears and super singles – a striking contrast to the performance of your factory truck. If you’re more inclined toward the analytical route, the numbers themselves speak volumes:
As of this moment, our fleet comprises over 800 trucks in active service. Remarkably, a mere three trucks have necessitated warranty replacements. This speaks volumes about the unparalleled quality and robustness of the gears we provide – truly representing the finest materials and craftsmanship that America has to offer.
